Job Purpose:

The Aircraft Technician is responsible for performing maintenance tasks on Emirates and third-party aircraft and components, in compliance with established procedures and regulatory requirements. Working as part of a team, the Technician operates under the direction of a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (LAE) within their certified trade disciplines.


Job Outline:

  • Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and approved structural repairs on aircraft, engines, and components according to manufacturers’ procedures and safety regulations. This includes fluid replenishment, aircraft refueling, and systems servicing as necessary.

  • Replace components and conduct other maintenance activities as directed by supervisors, using the appropriate approved technical documentation such as Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPC), and Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM).

  • Assist Licensed Aircraft Engineers with arrival and pre-departure walk-around checks, troubleshooting, defect rectification, modifications, and the execution of job card instructions.

  • Promote and participate actively in maintaining a strong safety culture by identifying potential risks, ensuring all work areas are kept clean, and strictly adhering to FOD (Foreign Object Debris) prevention practices. Maintain vehicles, work stands, lockers, and toolboxes to the highest standards.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of airport safety regulations and requirements, including holding a valid airport driving permit and operating safely within maneuvering areas.

  • Engage proactively with supervisors to review performance and development through the Performance Management (PM) system, focusing on continuous improvement, training, and professional grooming standards.

  • Ensure timely attendance and completion of allocated tasks, maximizing ground time efficiency and avoiding operational delays. This includes obtaining status briefs, preparing in advance, promptly communicating any defects to the LAE, and ensuring complete and accurate handovers between shifts.
